Franki Moscato: How You Feel Matters!

 We are a little late this year, but The Waupaca County Suicide Prevention Coalition is excited to bring Franki Moscato to the Manawa Masonic Center on April 12, 2023, as our speaker for this year's "Fall Talk." 
     Franki Moscato is a 20-year-old professional musician from Wisconsin who has performed at more than
300 corporate, public, and private events. Franki won the coveted Golden Ticket to Hollywood in the 2019 season of ABC’s American Idol at 16.
     ​Franki is a devoted advocate of fighting teen suicide. She travels around the country and provides school lectures on kindness, anti-bullying, and suicide prevention. In addition, Franki has a non-profit entity titled the “Franki Moscato Foundation,” which has raised over $60,000 to fight teen suicide in her state of Wisconsin.

"Is Anybody Out There?" with Mike McGowan

​The Waupaca County Suicide Prevention Coalition presented "Is Anybody Out There?" with Mike McGowan on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Weyauwega-Fremont Performing Arts Center.  Mike discussed the isolation epidemic and how to connect with others. This year's talk also included a community resource fair before and after the event.

"From First on Scene to Next of Kin" with Wes Zube 

The Waupaca County Suicide Prevention Coalition is proud to present "From First on Scene to Next of Kin" with Wes Zube at 6 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018  at Waupaca High School’s Performing Arts Center. Wes will share his personal story on dealing with the effects of suicide on him professionally and personally.
​The public is welcome to this free event.

An Evening with Chester Marcol - 2017


The Waupaca County Suicide Prevention Coalition presented “An Evening with Chester Marcol” at 6 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2017 at Waupaca High School’s Performing Arts Center. Mr. Marcol shared his story about his substance abuse and attempted suicide. He was a kicker for the Green Bay Packers and authored "Alive and Kicking: My Journey Through Football, Addiction and Life.

"Stop the Stigma of Mental Illness" by Chris Prochut - 2016

Chris Prochut, a retired law enforcement officer presented his "Stop the Stigma of Mental Illness" on Monday, September 19, 2016. He is a mental health awareness advocate and a law enforcement suicide prevention trainer.

"Mental Health Treatment Without Shame or Blame"
​with Dr. Adam Strassberg - 2015

On Monday, September 21, Dr. Adam Strassberg presented “Mental Health Treatment Without Shame or Blame” at 6 p.m. to the community at the Waupaca High School Performing Arts Center. “Mental illness is common. Mental illness is stigmatized. We don’t talk enough about it,” said Strassberg, an outpatient psychiatrist who has a private practice based in Palo Alto, California. His focus was on getting rid of the stigma associated with mental illness and the importance of getting help.

"Living Mentally Well"

On September 9, 2014, Kevin Hines shared his story of his suicide attempt by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. He continues to speak about mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
